Dr. Raja Srivastava has over 30 years of experience in the electric utility industry with
transmission planning, generation planning, power systems operation, EMS/SCADA
network modeling and support, Transmission Service Request management, FERC
tariff on generation interconnection and transmission service, FERC initiatives on
transmission planning, and management of large projects in the related fields.
Dr. Srivastava has made significant contributions in the field of transmission planning,
operational planning and resource planning. He has designed the transmission system
to integrate first 400 MW of renewable wind generation to the grid in the southwest
corner of Minnesota. He has prepared and filed transmission plans, resource plans and
integrated transmission plans to PUC in many jurisdictions. He has contributed
significantly in managing the generation interconnection in the MISO and CAISO.
His contributions to FERC tariff related to generation interconnection include
transition from serial study to cluster study for MISO.
Dr. Srivastava has closely followed MVP projects in MISO, Priority Project in SPP,
CREZ projects in ERCOT, and TPP projects in CAISO.
Dr. Srivastava is an elected member of Eastern Interconnect Planning Collaborative
by the US Department of Energy with the goal to develop inter-regional transmission
planning amongst the various ISOs of the Eastern Interconnect.
Dr. Srivastava was deeply involved in the success of a startup engineering consulting
company (TranServ International, Minneapolis). The company grew from few people
in the beginning to over a dozen and provides engineering services to electric utility
companies in Minnesota, Colorado and Dakotas.
Throughout his career, Dr. Srivastava has been able to deliver Transmission solutions
through his focused on quality control, time and on budget delivery, management by
projects, out-of-box approach to problem solving and strong inter-personal skills.
Dr. Raja is an expert in the engineering of transmission planning, generation planning,
power system operation, EMS/SCADA network modeling, Transmission Service
Request, and policy issues related to FERC tariff dealing with open access tariff,
generation interconnection, transmission service, and FERC initiatives on transmission
